Future Cars

The Future is Now . . . .

There was a time, not too long ago, when electric vehicles were scoffed at as little more than glorified milkfloats. Now, of course, almost every one of the major automobile manufacturers has invested into low or zero emission vehicles. At Eventageous PR, we have been working with Electric, Hybrid and Low-Energy vehicles for over a decade. Such experience in the industry has seen Eventagous PR become the natural choice for new clients impressed with our past work.

Bluebird Electric

The Bluebird Electric is the latest project in a dynasty that dates back 100 years, starting when Sir Malcolm Campbell first christened a Darracq racing car ‘Bluebird’ in 1911. Continuing the family tradition of Land Speed Record breakers, Don Wales – grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell and Nephew of Donald Campbell – is attempting the same in the Bluebird Electric Car. After setting a UK Electric Land Speed Record a decade ago, Don Wales and the rest of the Bluebird Electric team hope to eventually crack 500mph. Trial runs to help reach that goal will be taking place in August on the Pendine Sands in Wales, site of Sir Malcolm’s first ever World Land Speed Record. Eventageous PR has managed Don’s and Bluebird Electrics’ PR for over 10 years at a time when electric cars were considered the butt of milk float jokes! The team at Eventageous PR look forward to working with Don, and supporting him throughout his endeavour to achieve 500mph in 2013.

RAC Future Car Challenge

With rising fuel costs and dwindling resources the need for low or zero emission motoring is becoming increasingly important. In 2010, the inaugural RAC Future Car Challenge was established as an opportunity for manufacturers of pioneering new-energy technologies to demonstrate fuel efficiency in road-legal, real world conditions. Running the day before and following the same 60-mile route as the 115-year-old London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, the RAC Future Car Challenge begins at Brighton’s Madeira Drive and finishes in front of an estimated 250,000-strong crowd in Regent Street, London. The 2011 event will continue to showcase a range of Electric, Hybrid, Hydrogen, Extended-Range and low-emission Internal Combustion Engine vehicles. Eventageous PR managed the event publicity for the inaugural run in 2010 and generated over £3.5 million PR/event exposure, generating over 37minutes of national TV news coverage (despite the BBC strike the same weekend!) and over 300 national press articles. We are on course to well exceed our own PR target for 2011.
